Themefour Shamsi Kit Wordpress Plugin - Rating, Reviews, Demo & Download
Plugin Description
Themefour Shamsi Kit converts the dates displayed by WordPress to the Jalali (Shamsi) calendar. Post dates, page dates, archives, the admin post list, the publish panel, and comments are all displayed using the Shamsi calendar, while the dates WordPress stores and uses internally remain completely unchanged.
Conversion Accuracy
Date conversion uses an exact break-table algorithm from the same family of algorithms used by reference Jalali calendar implementations. Leap years, including years with 30 days in Esfand, are handled correctly. The conversion does not rely on an approximate 33-year cycle.
Machine-Readable Dates Stay Gregorian
This is an important distinction that many date plugins get wrong. A format such as Y-m-d, an ISO 8601 timestamp, or an RFC date is not intended for human reading; it is data parsed by browsers, feed readers, search engines, and other software.
Converting these machine-readable dates can break <time datetime=""> attributes, schema.org structured data, RSS feeds, and sitemaps. Themefour Shamsi Kit detects machine-readable formats and leaves them unchanged, converting only formats intended to be displayed to users.
Correct Persian Word Order
When a theme or another plugin uses a hard-coded English-ordered date format such as F j, Y, Themefour Shamsi Kit moves the day before the month so the date is displayed as “۵ مرداد ۱۴۰۵” instead of “مرداد ۵, ۱۴۰۵”.
This behavior is applied consistently across date_i18n(), wp_date(), get_the_date(), get_the_modified_date(), and comment dates, ensuring that the same timestamp is not displayed in different formats on the same page.
Features
- Jalali dates on the site front end, in the WordPress dashboard, and in comments, with each area configurable independently.
- Optional Persian digits.
- Correct Persian word order for date formats written in English order.
- Optional custom date format that applies only to converted dates without changing the site’s original date format.
- Today’s Shamsi date in the WordPress admin toolbar, with an optional Gregorian date displayed underneath so both calendars are always available.
A Note on the Separate Commercial Plugin
This plugin is complete on its own. Every feature listed above is included, and nothing in it is locked, limited, or waiting on a payment.
ThemeFour also sells a separate, larger plugin at themefour.com covering Jalali date pickers for form builders and WooCommerce, a Shamsi publish-date panel for the block editor, shortcodes and widgets. That is a different plugin with its own codebase; none of it is bundled here, and installing it is not required for anything described on this page.
