Plugin Description
This plugin loads posts from the Facebook Page in regular intervals and stores them as WordPress posts. You don’t have
to add shortcodes and configure appearance to fit your WordPress page. Simply add categories with Facebook posts to the
menu or add them to your homepage as you do with standard WordPress posts.
Key features
- Loads posts from Facebook as a WordPress posts. It means that they can be used anywhere at the page like posts created
directly in the WordPress.
- You can exclude some type of Facebook posts from being loaded.
- Assigns selected category to loaded posts.
How it works
- Posts are pulled from the Facebook two times per day with a cron job. You can run the process manually if you need.
- For each Facebook post, a new WordPress post is generated.
- If a post has multiple images, it is created as a classic WordPress gallery – it should work with plugins like
LightBox.
- Images from Facebook are not downloaded and stored locally but only link to the Facebook’s CDN is used on the front
page.
- Currently, you are not able to customize how posts are generated.
Requirements
- Facebook Page with administrator rights – you need to be the administrator of the Page you want to use.
- Facebook App to generate an access token. If you don’t have Facebook App, you can create
one here.
- App Access Token required to get data from Facebook. Token has to have
allowed scopes: pages_read_engagement and
pages_read_user_content. You can get your access token in 2 ways:
- Generate an access token with the api explorer and extend it
with the token debugger
- Use the WPSwlr plugin. You can simply use your App ID and App Secret. WPSwlr lets you select your Facebook Page
and generate an access token without expiration and with required scopes. WPSwlr will use Page ID and Page Secret
to obtain an access token and won’t store or send it anywhere.
