How Voice Selection Works
The plugin scans all voices available in the visitor’s browser, ranks them by type, and auto-selects one:
- Edge Natural voices – Available in Microsoft Edge and Chrome on Windows 10/11
- Google voices – Available in Google Chrome
- Apple voices – Available in Safari (macOS/iOS)
- System voices – Fallback for all browsers
A suitable voice matching the page language is auto-selected and saved for future visits via browser localStorage.
Privacy
This plugin does not collect, store, or transmit any data. All text-to-speech processing happens locally in the visitor’s browser using the Web Speech API. No external API calls are made. Voice preferences are stored in the visitor’s browser localStorage only.
