CosmyDay Astrology Widgets Wordpress Plugin - Rating, Reviews, Demo & Download
Plugin Description
CosmyDay Astrology Widgets embeds four ready-made astrology widgets in your site. There is no account, no API key and no configuration file — insert the block, pick a widget, done.
The four widgets
- Horoscope — daily, weekly and monthly horoscopes for all twelve signs. Visitors switch sign and period inside the widget, or you can pin one sign to match the page it sits on.
- Natal chart — a working birth chart calculator. The visitor enters a date, time and place and gets their Sun, Moon and Ascendant back without leaving your page.
- Zodiac compatibility — a love-match calculator. Readers pick two signs and get instant love, friendship and work scores. No birth times needed, so it works for casual visitors.
- Astro news — today’s moon phase, the current transits and the week ahead, on three tabs.
Why the dates are worth embedding
The astronomy behind these widgets is calculated with the Swiss Ephemeris, the same engine professional astrology software uses. Retrograde stations, lunations, eclipse maxima and sign ingresses are computed to the day rather than copied from another calendar, so the dates in the widget agree with an ephemeris.
The verifiable claim here is astronomical precision. Nothing in this plugin claims to predict outcomes.
Three ways to place a widget
- Block editor — search for “CosmyDay” in the block inserter. Settings appear in the sidebar with a live preview.
- Shortcode —
[cosmyday_widget type="horoscope"]anywhere shortcodes run, including page builders with a shortcode element. - Classic widget — a “CosmyDay Astrology” widget for themes that still use classic sidebars.
What you can change
Widget type, light or dark theme, background colour, accent colour and height. Colours accept any hex value, so the widget can be matched to your theme rather than to ours. An invalid value silently falls back to the default — a typo can never render an error on your site.
Performance
The plugin adds no CSS and no JavaScript to your front end. It outputs one lazy-loaded iframe, so nothing is fetched until the widget scrolls into view, and nothing in the widget can affect the rest of your page.
Attribution is optional
There is a setting to show a small “Source: CosmyDay” link under the widget. It is off by default and the widget works exactly the same whether it is on or off. If you find the data useful, turning it on is appreciated, but it is never required.
External services
This plugin displays widgets that are served by CosmyDay (https://cosmyday.com), a free astrology site operated by the plugin author.
What is loaded. The plugin outputs an <iframe> pointing at https://cosmyday.com/widget/.... Nothing is requested from cosmyday.com while a page is being generated on your server, and no request is made at all until a visitor’s browser loads the widget.
What is sent. Because the widget loads in the visitor’s browser, cosmyday.com receives what any embedded resource receives: the visitor’s IP address, browser user agent, and the address of the page the widget is embedded on (the HTTP referrer). If the visitor uses the natal chart widget, the birth date, time and place they type into it are sent to cosmyday.com in order to calculate the chart.
What is not sent. The plugin sends nothing about you, your site’s users, your content or your WordPress installation.
Because the widget loads from a third party, you should mention it in your own privacy policy if your jurisdiction requires disclosure of embedded third-party content.
