Plugin Description
DesignCrate turns any WooCommerce product into a visual canvas
editor. Customers upload their own images, add and style text, arrange the
layers, and see the result on your product mockup before adding it to the
cart. The finished artwork travels with the order, and you download it from
the order screen.
Everything runs on your own server. There is no external service, no account
to create, no API key, and no per-order fee.
How it works
- Open a product, tick Enable designer on the DesignCrate tab, choose
a mockup image and set the printable area. - Drag the print area onto the part of the product that actually gets
printed — the chest of a shirt, the face of a mug. - The designer appears on the product page for your customers.
- The design is attached to the order, with a preview in the cart, at
checkout, on the order and in the confirmation email. - Download a print-ready PNG from the order screen when you are ready to
print.
What customers can do
- Add text and restyle it: font, size, colour, alignment, bold, italic,
underline and strikethrough. - Outline, letter spacing, line height, highlight and drop shadow.
- Style individual letters differently within the same line.
- Upload their own PNG, JPEG, WebP or GIF image.
- Move, resize, rotate and reorder layers, and set their opacity.
- Everything stays inside the printable area, so nothing is lost at print.
Print-ready output
The printable area is set in inches, centimetres or pixels with a print
resolution, not in screen pixels. A 12 x 16 inch area at 300 DPI exports at
3600 x 4800 pixels, so what you download is the size you actually print.
The print file is the customer’s artwork alone, on transparency, cropped
to the printable area at full resolution. The product mockup is never part of
it, so you can send the file straight to a printer. The preview you see in the
cart and on the order is a separate render that does include the mockup, so
you can see the design on the product.
Respects your site
- No custom database tables. Settings live in post meta, the design travels
through the WooCommerce cart session and order item meta. - Full High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) support.
- Works with both the classic and block cart and checkout.
- Scripts and styles load only on products where the designer is enabled.
- No external requests. Fabric.js is bundled with the plugin.
- Translation ready.
