Plugin Description
Dziewa Media Converter creates sidecar .avif and .webp files next to your originals (no replacement of JPG/PNG in the Media Library). On the front end it can rewrite <img> tags to <picture> so browsers pick AVIF/WebP when available. The plugin is entirely free to use—no license fees, no pro version, and no paid add-ons.
- Optional AVIF when PHP GD is built with AVIF support; WebP otherwise or as configured.
- Converts new uploads and optional intermediate image sizes (thumbnails).
- Background queue for existing media with WP-Cron batch processing.
- Manual optimization from the plugin screen, bulk actions in the Media Library, or a native Convert to AVIF/WebP button in each image attachment’s Media Converter field (Media Library list, attachment edit screen, and media modal).
- Cleanup tool to delete old generated sidecars by age and folder scope.
