Erriscope is a WordPress error monitoring and incident diagnostics plugin for site owners, developers, agencies, and WooCommerce stores.
Instead of leaving you with raw log lines, Erriscope groups repeated failures into clear incidents, identifies the likely plugin, theme, file, or request area when evidence is available, and tracks verification, recovery, and recurrence.
It works as a standalone WordPress monitoring plugin. When WooCommerce is active, Erriscope automatically adds checkout, cart, payment, and failed-order monitoring without changing orders, stock, gateways, checkout settings, or customer sessions.

WordPress error monitoring
Erriscope monitors runtime failures that occur while WordPress is executing requests and background work, including:
- PHP warnings and user warnings
- Fatal errors and critical runtime failures
- Errors triggered during frontend, REST API, admin AJAX, and WP-Cron requests
- Local loopback health-check failures
- Incident recurrence after a previous recovery
- Recent plugin, theme, and file changes that may help explain an incident
No monitoring plugin can report a runtime error before the affected code runs. Erriscope records the failure when WordPress executes the relevant request path.
WooCommerce checkout and payment monitoring
When WooCommerce is active, Erriscope adds read-only Store Health signals for revenue-sensitive failures, including:
- Checkout exceptions and Store API server failures
- Cart Store API failures
- Repeated payment-failure patterns grouped by gateway
- Failed-order patterns and recovery signals
- Checkout and cart configuration health
Erriscope observes these signals without creating test orders, processing payments, changing gateway settings, modifying stock, or altering customer sessions. WooCommerce HPOS compatibility is declared, while WooCommerce remains optional.
Incident lifecycle and recovery tracking
Repeated occurrences with the same incident fingerprint stay grouped as one incident. Erriscope increases the occurrence count, verifies whether the signal is still failing, records recovery evidence, and can reopen the incident if the same problem returns.
This keeps the dashboard useful and prevents one recurring fault from creating hundreds of duplicate rows.
Smart incident email
Erriscope groups incident bursts into digest emails instead of sending one message for every repeated occurrence. A queued notification can be cancelled when the issue resolves before delivery, and recovery events can be grouped into a recovery digest.
Local email uses your existing WordPress wp_mail() transport, including an SMTP plugin when one is configured.
Safe deep fatal capture
Erriscope can install a managed wp-content/fatal-error-handler.php drop-in so it can preserve fatal-error context before WordPress Recovery Mode replaces it.
It never overwrites a fatal handler owned by another plugin or hosting provider. If another handler already exists, Erriscope reports the conflict and continues using the monitoring paths that remain available. Its own managed drop-in is removed when the plugin is deactivated or deleted.
Privacy by design
Erriscope Free performs its monitoring and stores incident data locally on your WordPress installation. It does not require an account, license, payment connection, or external monitoring service for local diagnostics.
The Free plugin does not send incident data to Erriscope servers. Local availability checks may request your own site URL and the local Erriscope health endpoint on the same WordPress installation.
Free core and optional Pro add-on
Erriscope Free is a complete local monitoring and diagnostics plugin. A separately distributed commercial add-on can extend it with independent 24/7 remote monitoring, server-side downtime alerts, advanced notification channels, deeper WooCommerce payment diagnostics, longer history, and private commercial updates. The commercial add-on is not included in this WordPress.org package.
