Plugin Description
This plugin allows you to create document download forms. Visitors fill out the form and recieve the email with URL to download. You can easily provide a simple lead generation system.

What should I use it for?
- Distribute documents or white papers to potential clients of B to B business
- Distribute portfolios or price lists of individual creators
Other features
- You can change email body.
- When you upload PDF or ZIP files to the form, these file prevent direct access (also search engine indexing).
- Forms can have email as well as profession, company, location, full name. You can also set the form to have only email.
- Forms can eliminate competitors and “just looking” customers. If they choose NG attribute in the form, they can’t access the form for about a month (You can also disable this feature).
Disallowed list
To eliminate disposable email addresses and spams, you can use the disallowed list.
This plugin can utilize WordPress Disallowed Comment Keys. Also you can use plugin’s setting. Put one word per line in the text box. You can use following setting box.
- Dashboard > Settings > Discussion > Disallowed Comment Keys
- Dashboard > Download Forms > Settings > Disallowed Keys
WordPress disallowed list is used for comments and other plugins in all of your site.
Download Form disallowed list is used for only download form by this plugin.
Notice
This plugin doesn’t have these features…
We want to plugins keep simple.
- No GDPR checkbox display (This plugin uses cookies). — However it is not mandatory in Japan.
- No function to send mass emails.
- This plugin saves the customer’s email to database but not other information (name, company, etc.). Manage customer information on your computer, not on WordPress.
Notice
- Do not delete the download page (which the customer visits to download the document) or change the slug. It is OK to change another part of the shortcode.
- When deactivated, shortcords for this plugin become invalid (Shortcodes will display as it is). When you quit to use this plugin, we recommend that you set the corresponding page or post to “Private” or “Draft”.
Please test the form before release
Even if you fill out the form and there are no errors, the email may not have been sent correctly. If you don’t see the email being sent, try the plugin “WP Mail SMTP“.
Future updates
We plan to add the following features in future updates.
- Allow to use IP address in disallowed list.
- Download limit by number of times or time.
