Plugin Description
Feedback Mango replaces static feedback forms with a short, adaptive interview: a visitor taps a rating or starts typing, and the AI asks one or two smart follow-up questions. You get themes and actionable insights on your Feedback Mango dashboard instead of a pile of raw comments.
This plugin puts your Feedback Mango study on your WordPress site without touching any code. Everything is a block, and each block carries its own study — so different pages can ask different questions:
- Inline — add the “Feedback Mango” block where the launcher should sit. Set its width and align it left, centre or right within its column.
- Floating button — add the “Feedback Mango floating button” block to your footer template in the Site Editor and it appears on every page that template covers, pinned to the edge of the screen. Its label, position and colour come from the study’s settings on feedbackmango.com. Put it on a single page instead and it shows only there.
- WooCommerce post-checkout pulse — add a block to the Order Confirmation template to ask “how was buying from us?” right after a purchase, with a study of its own. The block can also go inside the Cart and Checkout blocks’ own areas.
You’ll need a free Feedback Mango account and a study — creating one takes about a minute at feedbackmango.com. Connect the plugin to your account from Settings Feedback Mango, add a block, pick a study from the dropdown, and you’re live. The beta includes 300 free written responses; if you need more, reach out and I’ll raise your limit.
This plugin relies on an external service
Feedback Mango is a hosted service run by this plugin’s author at www.feedbackmango.com. The plugin is the interface to it and does nothing on its own — the interview, the storage and the analysis all happen on that service. Installing the plugin means your site, and visitors to pages carrying a block, will talk to it as described below.
On your site’s front end. A page containing a Feedback Mango block loads the widget script from https://www.feedbackmango.com/widget.js. That script asks the service for the study’s wording and appearance (/api/embed/config/<study key>). If a visitor answers, the conversation runs in an iframe on https://www.feedbackmango.com/embed/<study key> and what they say is sent to the service (/api/embed/respond, or /api/embed/rate for a rating given on its own). Pages with no Feedback Mango block on them load nothing.
What a visitor’s answer carries. What they typed and the rating they gave, plus the address and title of the page they were on, the address of the page they arrived from, their window size, their browser language and their time zone. Web addresses have their query string and fragment removed in the browser before anything is sent. Any values your own code puts in window.feedbackMango.meta are sent as well. The widget sets no cookies and does no cross-site tracking; it caches the study’s display settings, and a note that this visitor has already answered, in the visitor’s localStorage.
In wp-admin. Connecting sends your site’s address and name to the service and stores the access token it hands back. While connected, the settings screen and the block editor call /api/v1/studies and /api/v1/org to list your studies and show your response allowance, and the block editor loads widget.js once to preview the real launcher. Disconnecting calls DELETE /api/v1/connection. Each of those calls carries two headers naming this plugin’s version and your WordPress version, so the service can keep working with older plugins when its API changes.
What the plugin never does. It has no analytics of its own: nothing is sent on a schedule, nothing is sent from a page with no block on it, and it never reports what you do in wp-admin. Every call above is one this site makes because you asked it to.
What stays here. Responses are never written to your WordPress database. The plugin stores the connection token in one option, and each block stores the public key of the study it runs.
Using the plugin means accepting Feedback Mango’s terms and conditions and privacy policy. Tools Privacy in your admin carries suggested wording for your own privacy policy.
