Plugin Description
The Geneanet Embedded Individual is used to insert in a post you write one or several short embedded sheet(s).
A sheet contains the main information of an individual from a Geneanet family tree:
* A picture.
* The name and first name.
* The Sosa number.
* Information about the birth.
* Information about the death.
* Information about the families (including the number of children).
* A link to the tree or to the sheet of the individual on Geneanet.
There are two ways to use this plugin:
* By using the shortcode geneanet-embed-individual with the parameters url and link_type (fiche or tree).
* By installing the plugin Shortcake which adds an user-friendly interface for adding a sheet to your post (click on Add Post Element).
Features
- Use any URL from an individual on Geneanet, the plugin will take care of the rest.
- Choose the type of link you want to generate for the sheet. If you choose
fiche, the link will open the sheet of the individual on Geneanet. If you choose tree, it will be the tree centered on the individual on Geneanet.
- The visual editor works with this plugin: preview in real time how your post will look when posted.
- Add any number of sheets you want in your post.
This plugin is using the Geneanet API to retrieve the information about the individual.
When you save the post, the plugin saves some information of the individual: name, first name and sex. This allows to see these information before receiving the data from Geneanet.
