Gobuddy – The Official Gobuddy Add-on For WooCommerce Wordpress Plugin - Rating, Reviews, Demo & Download
Plugin Description
Gobuddy connects your WooCommerce store to a hybrid delivery network — eleven national courier partners plus a community transporter network that reaches the addresses couriers usually decline.
Install the plugin, connect your store, and every paid order flows straight into your Gobuddy dashboard. You compare live rates across couriers, generate a waybill, and track the parcel to the door — without paying a monthly subscription fee. Only pay for the deliveries you do.
Why retailers use Gobuddy
No subscription. No setup fee. No lock-in.
The platform is free. You pay per delivery, at negotiated courier rates. There is no monthly platform charge, no per-integration charge, and no contract to exit. Get going in minutes.
Eleven couriers, one integration.
Stop maintaining a separate account, login and rate card for each courier. Gobuddy aggregates them behind a single checkout, a single dashboard and a single invoice.
Deliver where you currently cannot.
A large share of South African delivery addresses sit in townships, peri-urban settlements and rural towns that traditional couriers either refuse or surcharge heavily. Gobuddy’s community transporter network covers them. For many merchants this is the difference between a checkout that converts and a checkout that shows “delivery unavailable in your area”.
Same-day where it matters.
Local orders within 20km can be matched to a nearby community transporter and delivered the same day, typically before 18:00.
Tracking your customers can see.
You receive live status updates for every order displayed on your dashboard. You get confirmation emails for dispatches and delivery complete. Your customer gets WhatsApp updates for statuses of the delivery.
What the plugin does
The plugin syncs paid WooCommerce orders to your Gobuddy dashboard automatically — no CSV uploads, no manual capture.
Your Gobuddy Dashboard then:
- Returns live delivery quotes across the courier network and the community network
- Recommends the most suitable option by destination, parcel weight, urgency and past courier performance
- Generates waybills, statements and invoices
- Sends tracking notifications to your customer by email and WhatsApp
- Handles returns and one-click collections
- Supports multiple users and multiple store integrations on one Gobuddy account
How the delivery network works
Gobuddy is a hybrid network. Every order is offered to the option that actually serves that address best:
- Community transporters — verified local transporters already travelling that route, on foot, by bicycle, scooter, car or public transport. Best for same-day, hyper-local and township delivery.
- National courier partners — for long-haul, bulk, and destinations outside community coverage.
If no community transporter is available for a given delivery, the order is routed to a courier partner automatically. Nothing stalls, and nothing needs your intervention.
Courier partners in the network:
- RTT Logistics
- Courier IT
- RAM Hand-to-Hand Couriers
- Internet Express
- City Sprint
- TFS
- Fastway
- Aramex
- Skynet
- The Courier Guy
- Pudo
Who it is for
Online stores, D2C brands, pharmacies, grocers, marketplaces, subscription businesses and independent sellers — anywhere in South Africa, shipping from one order a week to ten thousand a month.
External Services
This plugin connects to the following external services.
1. Gobuddy Dashboard — https://app.gobuddy.net
What it is: Your web portal to send shipments, compare courier costs, print waybills and track parcels.
2. Gobuddy API — https://api-v2.gobuddy.net
What it is: The Gobuddy delivery platform. This is the service the plugin exists to connect to; the plugin does not function without it.
When data is sent: When you request a delivery quote, when a WooCommerce order is synced for fulfilment, when a waybill is generated, and when delivery status is retrieved for an order.
Data sent: WooCommerce order ID and order status; recipient name, delivery address and contact details; collection address; parcel weight and dimensions; delivery instructions or notes; and the store credentials you enter during setup (Gobuddy Client ID and Secret ID, WooCommerce Consumer Key and Consumer Secret) for authentication.
Why it is sent: To price the delivery, allocate a transporter or courier, produce the waybill, and return tracking information to your Gobuddy dashboard.
Onward sharing: Gobuddy shares the recipient name, contact number, delivery address and parcel identifier with the courier or transporter allocated to that specific delivery, solely so the parcel can be delivered. Partners are contractually bound to equivalent POPIA-compliant standards. No delivery data is sold, and none is shared for marketing.
Data controller and location: Gobuddy Network (Pty) Ltd, South Africa. Delivery records are retained for a minimum of five years as required by the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act.
Terms and privacy:
Your obligations as the site owner: You are the responsible party for your customers’ personal information. You must disclose in your own privacy policy that order and delivery data is transmitted to Gobuddy for fulfilment, and obtain any consent required under POPIA, the GDPR, or other law that applies to you. Under POPIA, Gobuddy acts as your Operator and processes end-customer data only on your instruction.
Configuration: Data is transmitted only after you have entered valid Gobuddy credentials and activated the integration. An unconfigured plugin sends nothing.
2. WordPress.org Plugin API — https://api.wordpress.org/
What it is: The standard WordPress update-check endpoint.
Data sent: The plugin slug and installed version number only. No personal data, order data or site-identifying data.
Why it is sent: To notify you when a plugin update is available.
Privacy: WordPress.org Privacy Policy.
Configuration: Automatic and non-configurable — this is core WordPress update behaviour.
