Plugin Description

Ozosh DevTools is a modular collection of development utilities for WordPress developers.

It is designed to be installed while developing, testing, or debugging a WordPress website and removed when development work is complete.

Each tool is isolated as an individual feature and can be enabled or disabled from:

Settings > Ozosh DevTools

Ozosh DevTools currently includes the following tools:

Current Template

Displays information about the currently loaded theme template directly in the WordPress admin toolbar on the frontend.

It can display:

  • The current template file.
  • The active theme.
  • Theme PHP files included while rendering the current page.

The information is only shown to users with the required administrative permissions.

This tool is useful when working with themes, template hierarchy, custom templates, and template parts.

Duplicate Post

Adds a Duplicate action to supported WordPress post list screens.

It supports:

  • Posts.
  • Pages.
  • Public custom post types that provide a WordPress admin interface.
  • Configurable duplicate quantity.
  • Draft or Published status for generated copies.
  • Post content.
  • Post excerpt.
  • Post author.
  • Taxonomy terms.
  • Custom fields and post meta.
  • Featured image references.
  • Parent relationships.
  • Menu order.
  • Comment and ping settings.

The number of duplicates can be configured from the Ozosh DevTools settings page.

For example, if the duplicate amount is set to 3 and the original post is:

My Post

Ozosh DevTools creates:

My Post-1
My Post-2
My Post-3

Copies can be configured to be created as Drafts or immediately Published.

Users must have the appropriate WordPress capabilities to create or publish the selected post type.

Development Use

Ozosh DevTools is intended primarily for development and testing environments.

The plugin does not automatically disable its tools on production sites because developers may occasionally need to use a development utility temporarily on a live website.

When WordPress identifies the current environment as production, Ozosh DevTools displays a notice on its settings page reminding administrators that the plugin is intended as a temporary development tool.

We recommend disabling and removing Ozosh DevTools after development or debugging work is complete.
