Plugin Description
PingUp.ai connects your WordPress site to your PingUp account and adds your AI chat assistant to the site frontend.
- One-click, secure connection to your PingUp account (OAuth-style authorization with PKCE — no passwords or API keys to copy around).
- Pick which of your PingUp bots to show on the site.
- Enable or disable the widget with a single toggle.
- Disconnect at any time; the connection can also be revoked from the PingUp dashboard.
The plugin does nothing until you connect it. Before you click “Connect to PingUp” on the settings page, the plugin sends no data anywhere, loads no remote code and contacts no external service.
External services
This plugin relies on PingUp, a third-party hosted AI chat assistant service, to work.
Once you have connected your account, selected a bot and enabled the widget:
- Your site’s frontend loads the PingUp widget script from PingUp’s servers and displays the chat widget to your visitors.
- Messages that visitors type into the chat widget are sent to and processed by the PingUp service in order to generate replies.
- Your WordPress server communicates with the PingUp API (to list your bots, to manage the connection and to verify twice a day that the connection has not been revoked) using a revocable, site-specific access token stored in your WordPress options.
No data is sent to PingUp before you explicitly connect the plugin to your PingUp account, and nothing is loaded on your site’s frontend until you also select a bot.
