Quick Start
Create your first add-on in 5 steps
- Go to Smart Add-ons > Add-ons and click Add New Add-on
- Enter a product name (e.g. “Gift Wrapping”)
- Set Product type to Smart Add-on
- Add an attribute (e.g. “Option”) and create variations (e.g. Standard, Premium) with prices
- Click Manage Rules next to your add-on and choose where to display it (e.g. All products)
Your add-on will now appear on product pages according to your rules.
Troubleshooting
Add-ons don’t appear on product pages
- Ensure the add-on product is Published
- Check that assignment rules match the product (e.g. category, product, or global)
- Verify no exclusion rules block the add-on (Pro)
Color swatches don’t show
- Set a Swatch Color for each variation in the Variations tab
- Variations without a color are intentionally hidden
Wrong display template or styling
- Go to Smart Add-ons > Settings to adjust appearance (colors, borders, free label)
- Ensure you’ve saved the add-on product after changing the Display Template
