Plugin Description

RotaKit turns a set of turntable photos into a smooth, draggable 360° product
spin — momentum drag, auto-spin on load, and mobile-friendly scrolling
(vertical swipes still scroll the page). Your images stay in your own media
library: no external hosting, no accounts, no XML.

Don’t have a set of turntable photos? Shoot a short video of your product
turning once and click “Create from video”. The browser extracts evenly-spaced
frames, finds a clean loop, and uploads the frames to your media library. The
video file itself never leaves your computer — everything is decoded in the
browser.

Create spins in the RotaKit admin panel, then embed them anywhere with a
shortcode — Gutenberg, Elementor, any page builder, or a WooCommerce product
description.

Everything described above is free and fully functional.

Highlights

  • Drag-to-spin 360° viewer with momentum and auto-spin
  • Reverse the spin direction with one toggle
  • Create a spin from a short turntable video, entirely in your browser
  • Frames stay in your media library — no third-party hosting
  • Fast: spins use WordPress’s already-generated “large” image size
  • Mobile-friendly: vertical swipes scroll the page, horizontal drags spin
  • Embed with a simple shortcode anywhere

RotaKit Pro

RotaKit Pro is a separate plugin (available from https://rotakit.com) that adds
a degree scrubber bar, a chosen starting frame, custom colors, HD zoom into the
full-resolution original, fullscreen, and WooCommerce product-gallery
integration. It is not required — this free plugin is complete on its own.

Usage

  1. Shoot at least 36 photos of your product on a turntable (equal angle steps —
36 frames is one per 10°; more frames, smoother spin). Or shoot a short
video of one full turn and use “Create from video”.
  2. Upload the photos to the media library with numbered filenames
(product-1.jpg, product-2.jpg, …). Frames are always ordered by filename,
naturally — product-2 comes before product-10 — no matter what order you
    select them in.
  3. Go to RotaKit in the admin sidebar Add new spin. Select the photos, watch
    the live preview, and save.
  4. Copy the shortcode and paste it anywhere:

    [rotakit id=”45″]

In Elementor use a Shortcode widget; in Gutenberg a Shortcode block; in the
Classic editor just paste it into the content.

Optional attributes override the spin’s saved settings:

[rotakit id=”45″ autospin=”false” reverse=”true”]

autospin — spin once on load (default: the spin’s setting)
reverse — flip the spin direction (default: the spin’s setting)

The legacy form with raw attachment ids also works:

[rotakit ids=”101,102,103,104″]
