Plugin Description
Stewie AI Agent is the official WordPress integration for the hosted Stewie agent service. It is published by Digitalk Limited (trading as Customer Impact), the operator of stewie.io, which is named as the operator on the service’s own terms and privacy pages. “Stewie” is the name of that service, not a third-party trademark referenced by this plugin.
The plugin keeps WordPress setup deliberately small:
- Connect to your Stewie account from Settings -> Stewie.
- Approve the site’s HTTPS origin on stewie.io.
- Store the returned public company ID in WordPress.
- Load the Stewie embed script on public pages through the WordPress enqueue API.
Appearance, persona, knowledge, conversations, and handoff remain on stewie.io. A Stewie account and a public HTTPS site are required. HTTP-only and intranet sites cannot pass the widget’s domain check.
The company ID can also be entered manually as a fallback. The site still has to be present in the Stewie allowed-websites list.

This plugin relies on the hosted Stewie service at stewie.io to connect the site and provide the agent, operated by Digitalk Limited (trading as Customer Impact), Abbate Savoia Street 36 FL3, NXR1141 Naxxar, Malta, VAT MT28103535. The plugin is not functional without this service.
When an administrator selects Connect to Stewie, the browser sends the CMS type, the site’s HTTPS origin, a random one-time state value, and the WordPress callback URL to https://stewie.io/connect/cms. After approval, WordPress sends the returned short-lived code, the site origin, and the stored one-time state to https://stewie.io/api/cms/exchange. Stewie returns the public company ID. These requests occur only when an administrator starts the connection.
When an administrator opens Settings -> Stewie with a saved company ID, the plugin may request https://stewie.io/api/inline-config at most once per hour. It sends the public company ID as a query parameter and the site’s origin in the HTTP Origin header. This checks whether the site is allowed and whether the widget is enabled.
On public pages, visitors’ browsers request https://stewie.io/api/embed.js with the public company ID. The loader then requests the widget configuration and hosted widget from stewie.io. Normal HTTP request metadata, including the site’s origin, is sent with these requests. If a visitor uses the agent, their messages and any contact details they choose to provide are sent to Stewie so the service can answer and perform the configured handoff.
Use of the service is governed by the Stewie Terms of Service and Stewie Privacy Policy.
