Yova Game Cards For Ludoteca.dev Wordpress Plugin - Rating, Reviews, Demo & Download
Plugin Description
Yova Game Cards for ludoteca.dev lets any WordPress author paste the URL of a video game page on ludoteca.dev, an international video game database, and automatically display a card with:
- Title and release year
- Cover art
- Short description
- Developer, publisher and country of origin (when known)
- Direct links to the stores where the game can be bought
Usage via shortcode:
[ludoteca_juego url="https://ludoteca.dev/juego/hades"]
[ludoteca_juego url="https://ludoteca.dev/id/LDT-1234"]
[ludoteca_juego url="https://store.steampowered.com/app/1145360/Hades/"]
[ludoteca_juego id="LDT-1234"] (the ludoteca.dev id, LDT-<number>, shown on every game page: it never changes, so it is the most robust option)
[ludoteca_juego steam="1145360"]
If a game is not in ludoteca.dev yet, using its Steam URL creates its page on the fly (it may take a few minutes to be ready).
or via the “Game Card (ludoteca.dev)” Gutenberg block, by pasting the URL in the block settings panel. Pasting a ludoteca.dev or Steam store game URL on its own line in the block editor converts it into the block automatically.
Data is fetched live from a public ludoteca.dev endpoint and cached locally (12 hours) to avoid unnecessary traffic.
External services
This plugin connects to the ludoteca.dev API (https://ludoteca.dev/api/v1/juego/, https://ludoteca.dev/api/v1/id/ or https://ludoteca.dev/api/v1/steam/) to retrieve the public data of the game whose URL, id or slug the author has entered. Only that slug, numeric id or Steam appid is sent; no personal data about the site or its visitors is transmitted. The request is made from the WordPress server when the card is rendered and its result is cached for 12 hours.
Cover images are loaded by the visitor’s browser from ludoteca.dev (lightweight WebP copies). Only if ludoteca.dev does not respond, the browser falls back to the original image on the store’s CDN (Steam, Nintendo…).

Screenshots
A game card inside a post with a light theme: cover, studio, publisher, country, short description and a button for every store where the game is sold.
The same card with a dark theme: it inherits the theme’s text color, so it fits light and dark sites alike.
