Plugin Description
Articfly connects your WordPress site to the Articfly web app — an AI content platform for bloggers, marketers, and content teams.
This is a gateway plugin: all AI features (article generation, content planning, rewriting, brand voice analysis) live in the Articfly web app. The plugin handles the secure connection between your WordPress site and the platform, and receives generated articles via webhook for automatic publishing.
How It Works:
- Install and activate the plugin
- Generate a Connection Key in app.articfly.com
- Paste the key in the plugin dashboard and click Connect
- Generate articles in the web app — they are delivered to your WordPress site automatically
What the Plugin Does:
- Securely connects your WordPress site to your Articfly account
- Receives AI-generated articles via webhook and creates WordPress posts
- Supports draft, publish, and scheduled post statuses
- Featured images are downloaded and set automatically
- Keywords are added as post tags
- Supports Classic Editor, Gutenberg, and Elementor output formats
- Multi-site compatible — one account across your network

Requirements:
- Active Articfly account with All-in subscription
- PHP 7.4 or higher
- WordPress 5.8 or higher
External Services
This plugin connects to the Articfly API to provide core functionality:
- Service: Articfly API (VPS backend at api.articfly.com)
- Base URL:
https://api.articfly.com/api - Purpose: Plugin authentication, subscription validation, article delivery, and content management.
Data sent during connection:
* Installation ID (randomly generated UUID, stored in wp_options)
* Site URL, site name
* WordPress version, PHP version, plugin version
* Locale and timezone
Data received from service:
* Account and subscription status
* Generated article content (title, HTML body, excerpt, keywords, header image URL)
Data storage:
* Access tokens are encrypted at rest in wp_options using AES-256-CBC with keys derived from WordPress AUTH_KEY/SECURE_AUTH_KEY constants
* Article delivery webhooks are verified using HMAC-SHA256 signatures
* No visitor data is transmitted to Articfly servers
