Buckmerce – Bank Payments Via Nello Pay For WooCommerce Wordpress Plugin - Rating, Reviews, Demo & Download
Plugin Description
Let your customers pay straight from their bank account. No card needed, and no bank transfers to match by hand.
Bank Payments via Nello Pay for WooCommerce adds a Pay by Bank payment method to your WooCommerce checkout. It connects your store to Nello Pay, the open banking payment service of Neonomics, so shoppers in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland can pay for an order directly from their own bank account.
After placing the order the customer is taken to the secure Nello Pay checkout, chooses their bank, signs in with the bank’s own login and approves the payment. The money is sent from their account to yours as an account-to-account bank payment, and the WooCommerce order is updated for you.
This is not a manual “direct bank transfer” method where you wait for money to arrive and then look for the matching order. Nello Pay for WooCommerce follows every bank payment from checkout until Nello Pay confirms that the funds were received.
Why offer Pay by Bank in your WooCommerce store?
- One more way to pay at checkout — bank payments next to your cards, wallets and invoices.
- No card needed — customers approve the payment at their own bank, with the login they already use.
- Less manual work — orders move to On hold, Processing or Failed by themselves as the bank payment progresses.
- Paid means paid — an order is marked paid when Nello Pay confirms the funds, never because a browser page says so.
- No silent surprises — when a bank stops reporting on a payment, or an amount does not add up, you get an alert and an email instead of a wrong order status.
- Private by design — no customer name, email address or postal address is sent to Nello Pay, and your store never sees bank login details.
- Free and complete — no license key, no paid add-on, no trial period and no usage limits.
How Pay by Bank works for your customers
- At checkout the customer selects Pay by Bank and places the order.
- They are taken to the Nello Pay checkout, choose their bank, sign in and approve the payment.
- They return to the order confirmation page of your store, which shows the payment status and updates by itself.
If a customer cancels, or the bank declines the payment, no money is taken and they can pay for the same order again.
What happens to the order in WooCommerce
- Payment approved — the order is placed On hold while the bank transfers the money.
- Payment confirmed — the order is marked paid (Processing or Completed, exactly as WooCommerce normally decides) when Nello Pay confirms that the funds were received.
- Payment failed or cancelled — the customer can pay for the same order again.
- Bank stopped reporting — the order stays On hold and you are asked to check your bank account and confirm or reject the payment on the order.
Features
- WooCommerce Pay by Bank gateway for Norway (NOK), Sweden (SEK), Denmark (DKK) and Finland (EUR).
- Checkout Block and Classic Checkout, plus the pay-for-order page, for guests and logged-in customers.
- Automatic order status updates from the authenticated payment status webhook of Nello Pay.
- Live payment status on the order confirmation page, without reloading.
- Protection against double payments caused by double clicks, page reloads or several open tabs.
- Careful handling of unusual cases — for example, money that arrives for an order you already cancelled is held for your review instead of being processed automatically.
- A clear order panel with the payment status, the Nello Pay identifiers, key dates and earlier payment attempts.
- A Pay by Bank column in the orders list, so payments that need your attention are easy to spot.
- Alerts and emails for payments that need a decision.
- Test mode with the Nello Pay Sandbox: run complete test orders without moving real money.
- Guided setup with a status checklist, a one-click connection test, a webhook key generator, the Nello Pay Health page and WordPress Site Health checks.
- Your own wording for the payment method title, the checkout description and the payment message on the bank statement.
- High-Performance Order Storage (HPOS) compatible.
- Translation ready, with a Russian translation included.
- Developer friendly — action hooks, filters and WP-CLI commands.
Supported countries and currencies
- Norway — Norwegian krone (NOK)
- Sweden — Swedish krona (SEK)
- Denmark — Danish krone (DKK)
- Finland — euro (EUR)
A store uses one market. Pay by Bank is offered when the order is in the currency of that market and is hidden automatically otherwise.
Good to know
Nello Pay for WooCommerce is built for one-time bank payments in the local currency of one Nordic market per store. It does not process cards, subscriptions or saved payment methods. Nello Pay has no refund function, so a refund is a bank transfer you make yourself and record in WooCommerce as a manual refund. Pay by Bank works alongside your other WooCommerce payment methods.
What you need
- WordPress 6.6 or later and WooCommerce 8.7 or later.
- PHP 8.1 or later.
- A store that sells in NOK, SEK, DKK or EUR.
- A Nello Pay Merchant Portal account with a receiving bank account in that market.
- A site that is publicly reachable over HTTPS, so Nello Pay can report payment statuses to it.

External services
Bank Payments via Nello Pay for WooCommerce relies on Nello Pay, a payment service of Neonomics AS, to create and track Pay by Bank payments. It cannot take payments without it.
- Nello Pay Checkout API (
https://checkout.sandbox.neonomics.ioin test mode,https://checkout.neonomics.iofor live payments) — contacted by your server when a customer starts a Pay by Bank payment and when you click Test connection. It receives your Nello Pay API key and the payment details listed below. - Nello Pay hosted checkout — the customer’s browser is redirected there to choose a bank and approve the payment.
- Nello Pay webhook — Nello Pay notifies your site when the status of a payment changes.
Information sent to Nello Pay when a payment starts: the order amount and currency, the market and language, a payment message with the order number, your store name, internal order and payment references and the addresses of your order pages the customer returns to. The customer’s name, email address and postal address are not sent. Bank login details are entered directly at Nello Pay and the bank and are never sent to your store. Nothing is sent before a customer chooses Pay by Bank or you test the connection.
This service is provided by Neonomics AS: terms and legal documentation, end-user terms and conditions, privacy policy.
Privacy
Nello Pay for WooCommerce does not track you or your customers and sends no usage data to its author. Nello Pay payment references and statuses are stored with your orders and in the plugin’s own records, so that payments can be followed and audited. The payer’s name and account number reported by Nello Pay are not stored. Suggested text for your privacy policy is added under Settings Privacy.
When you delete the plugin, its settings and history are removed only if you turned on Uninstall cleanup. The payment details saved on your orders always stay.
Security
- Your Nello Pay API key and webhook key stay on your server. They are never shown again in the settings, never sent to the browser and are removed from logs.
- The amount and currency always come from the WooCommerce order, so they cannot be changed in the customer’s browser.
- Coming back from Nello Pay never marks an order paid; only a notification that carries your webhook key can change an order.
- Payment actions in the admin are limited to users who are allowed to manage WooCommerce.
Source code
The JavaScript and CSS shipped with the plugin are built from readable TypeScript and SCSS source code. The full source and the build tools are public on GitHub: github.com/Buckmerce/NelloPay. To build them yourself, run npm ci and npm run build in a copy of the repository. No third-party library is bundled.
