Plugin Description

VAT IT Tax Engine connects your WooCommerce store to the VAT IT compliance platform to calculate accurate VAT and sales tax in real time at checkout.

Requirements:

This plugin connects to the VAT IT tax compliance platform. It will not function without this connection.

VAT IT Tax Engine API (vatcompliance.com)

What it is used for: authorizing your store, storing your store configuration, and managing your connection.
What data is sent and when: your store URL and store name when you connect; a webhook signing secret after connecting. All requests after setup are authenticated with a token scoped to your store only.

VAT IT tax calculation service (AWS-hosted endpoint)

What it is used for: calculating tax at checkout and receiving order notifications for tax compliance reporting.
What data is sent and when: at checkout, the customer’s billing/shipping address, name, email, VAT/tax number (if provided), and cart line items (products, quantities, prices) are sent to calculate tax. When an order is created, the order details are delivered to the service via a WooCommerce webhook, signed with a per-store secret.
